  • Buddy's is one of two bars in the city predominantly catered towards the LGBT* community and OUTreach has been happy to partner with them throughout the 2014/2015 school year for our discount card, as well as for endeavours such as a fundraiser for the AIDS Walk for Life and performances at our 30th Anniversary party in November 2014 and other exciting events.

    Evolution is one of the two bars in the city of Edmonton that predominantly caters towards the LGBT* community, and OUTreach is excited to be partnering with them for a second year on our 2014/2015 school discount card, as well as for bar nights throughout the Fall and Winter semester, and help with pulling off our 30th Anniversary celebration in November 2014 and other exciting events.

    The Pride Centre of Edmonton provides a non-judgemental, welcoming space where people of all sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions can be themselves, find support, meet new people, and be a part of a caring community. We offer support, resources, peer groups, social events, and educational seminars. Services are available for members of the LGBT*TQ community, their families, friends and the broader community of all ages.

    InQueeries is MacEwan University’s LGBT*QIAS / “Diversity in all its Forms” Designated Social Group.

    Team Edmonton is a volunteer-operated, non-profit society serving primarily members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered communities and their friends and supporters. The primary focus of Team Edmonton is to provide our membership and supporters with access to well organized and fun sporting events and other recreational activities that allow them to participate and interact in a positive social framework.

    Fruit Loop is an Edmonton based LGBTQ event where our fellow Fruits – a diverse community of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transfolk, queers, two spirited, straights, allies, cherries and berries – can mix, mingle and have fun.

    YUY is a self-supporting youth group, facilitated by a team of adult volunteers, that strives to create a safe environment in which youth can explore and express their interests and needs in an atmosphere where they are supported and respected for their contributions and unique individual differences.

    Queermonton is a regular column in Edmonton’s weekly independent publication Vue Weekly. Queermonton covers LGBTQ news, stories and events in Edmonton, Canada and globally.

    Edmonton’s only radio program dedicated to shedding light on, and discussing, news, events and issues that affect the LGBTQ community in Canada and around the world.   • Student Group Services assists over 400 active student groups on campus. Whatever interests you may have – academic, cultural, recreational, political – there’s probably a student group that’s right for you. If not, feel free to start a new one!

    The Landing is a student space and SU service offering support for gender and sexual diversity. We strive to promote gender equity on a broad scale, and advocate for the safety and acceptance of individuals of all genders and sexualities in campus life.

    iSMSS performs research and provides services at the U of A for sexual and gender minority groups. OUTreach is proud to partner with iSMSS during the official Pride Week celebrations, continuing now into our third year.

    Recreational programming is offered by the Recreation Services unit in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation. Our goal is for every student, staff and faculty member, and every community member who comes to our classes, to enjoy superb, well-run activities to keep them physically active and healthy for life.

    Siderite is a branch of the University of Alberta Residence Halls Association. It is a network for LGBT students living in any of the University of Alberta residences. The Siderite coordinator, Kyler Chittick of Lister Hall, provides the LGBT perspective on residence affairs at the RHA meetings. He also plans LGBT events, provides talks on inclusivity regarding LGBT students, and confidentially answers any emails at this address: [email protected]

    Orchesis is a modern and jazz dance group at the University of Alberta that offers weekly modern and jazz dance classes for adult dancers of all skill levels, master classes with visiting artists, and scholarship opportunities for dedicated dancers. Orchesis members are also able, for a nominal fee, to perform and choreograph for Dance Motif, our annual dance production.

    The UIG is The University of Alberta's only Improvised Comedy Student Group! We have meetings twice a week, September through April:

    The University of Alberta Dance Club offers an extensive range of ballroom dance classes and other dance events, including workshops, practice sessions, & dances throughout the year.

    The Last Alliance Tolkien Society holds friendly and welcoming meetings for those interested in learning more about Tolkien's work, person, and sources through discussion, guest lecturers, and academically-oriented activities. Their hope is to provide a friendly atmosphere for literary-flavoured socialization at the University of Alberta, and they promote academic discourse and literacy in our community through volunteering activities.
